PERLA DEL VENETO

In September 1957, the fourteenth-century city of Conegliano Veneto, transformed into “The pearl of Veneto” by several distinguished citizens over the years, gave a warm welcome to almost a thousand of Vespa riders from the North-East and the centre of Italy. For the occasion, the riders crowded the wonderful square “Piazza del Cima da Conegliano” and paraded in an orderly way through the streets surrounded by acheering crowd. After a scenic walk among the hills of Prosecco, they reached the imposing Castello, on the top of the hill “Colle di Giano”.

On that day, the eighteen associations present cemented a feeling of spontaneous fraternity, so important to the founders of the Vespa Club Italia. For that occasion they were represented by the vice-president Manlio Riva.  Dear Vespa rider, after 60 years since that distant 1957, the Vespa ClubConegliano is pleased to invite you personally to the Historical Commemoration that takes place on 9th-10th September 2017, giving you precedence for the application. On that day, we will follow the traces of our predecessors, showing you the beauties of “The Pearl of Veneto”.

PROGRAMME VESPA MEETING  

“The pearl of Veneto”

– Saturday 9th September 2017  –

From 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.: Check-in in the square of the “Castello di Conegliano”.

At 3 p.m.: Vespa ridewith stop tasting of local products (only registered).

At 8 p.m.: Vermouth of honour and musical evening at “Caffè Teatro”, in “Piazza G.B. Cima”.

– Sunday 10th September 2017  –

From 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.: Check-in in the square of the “Castello di Conegliano”.

Arrangement of all vehicles in “Piazza G.B. Cima” and in “Corso Giuseppe Mazzini”.

Exhibition “Pittori in Contrada” by the association “Contrada Granda”.

At 11 a.m.: Authorities welcome greetings and departure on parade of the historical vehicles through the city streets.

At 12 a.m.: Tasting in “Villa Morosini Lucheschi Valforte”.

At 1 p.m.: Arrival on parade in Santa Lucia di Piave.

Exhibition of the historical vehicles at “Le Filande”.

Gala lunch and prize-giving.

At 3.30 p.m.: Closing of the meeting.

At 6.30 p.m.: Prize-giving for the best work of art on “La Vespa in Contrada Granda” in “Piazza G.B. Cima” in Conegliano.

In case of bad weather the programme can be adjusted to best fit the conditions.
